IRS deadline to file and pay is July 15th. Same for North Carolina. Virginia has an automatic extension if you are to receive a refund to November 1st. If you had a balance due it should have been paid by June 1st. If you didn't meet that deadline they will send you a letter for the penalty and interest for the late payment.
If you are reading this prior to the 15th of July you can file an extension for filing but if you owe you will have to make the payment by the 15th.
For all clients, On July 15th the Moyock Office will be closing. Our hours starting on July 6th is 9 am to 6 pm, July 8th, 9th, and 10th hours will be 9 am - 7 pm. Saturday July 11th we will be open 9 am - 6 pm. On July 13th, 14th, and 15th ours hours are 9 am - 7 pm. On July 16th, any returns that have not been paid for, picked up and signed will be transfer to Elizabeth City. The hours there will be Mon - Thurs. 10 am - 4 pm. For those still drawing unemployment the Cares Act 600.00 weekly payment for unemployment will be ending on July 31st. If congress can come to some decision on the new stimulus act; you may see the 600.00 a week be extended. There is also talk about providing an incentive payment to get off of unemployment and go back to work. AS well as talk about another round of stimulus checks. Who knows what congress will agree on.
