2021 was another great year for housing in Currituck County! Demand remained strong and inventory was very low. On February 1, 2022 there were only 14 Active New Construction Listings and 19 Resale Listings on the market in Currituck County (Mainland). ALL TIME LOW. And with the Currituck market absorbing at a pace of 23.6 homes/month, this represented "inventory" that could be absorbed in less than one month! That same combination of high demand and low inventory helped push median pricing to a new high by year-end 2021 of $428,170!
The top five builders in the County were Ryan Homes, Napolitano Homes, QHOC Homes, Chesapeake Homes and Stephen Alexander Homes. The top five best selling communities were Wentworth, Waterleigh, Glenmoor, Lakeview and The Gables.
2022 will see continued growth throughout the County, especially with the opening of the Fost development this spring. This community will bring both single-family detached as well as townhomes to the market and, throughout its various phases, lakes, a pool and clubhouse, parks and a multipurpose walking trail.
