The Currituck Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors have named Becky Howard, Music Director of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church to a South Council seat on the Board of Directors.
Lifelong Currituck County resident, Howard, was tapped by the Chamber to give a voice to the non-profit community. Also due to her community support and knowledge of the local community. Howard is a retired elementary school teacher, having worked in both Currituck and Camden County school systems for 25 years. During her summers she worked at Howard and Associates Realty, which is now C. A. Howard and Associate Realty. Along with her husband C.A. Howard, and son Clayton Howard, she owns and operates the family realty company, specializing in long term rentals, development and new construction. Previously, she worked in bookkeeping in the family business office -Woodhouse Produce Company, which shipped vegetables from coast to coast.
Howard is a lifelong member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she has chaired or served on many committees over the years, and participated as pianist, organist, choir director and currently serves as the Music Director. She has assisted many area churches with vacation Bible schools, music programs for holidays, anniversary celebrations and other special occasions throughout the county. She has also taught private piano lessons.
Currently, Howard serves as a Chamber Ambassador as well as having previously served on the Currituck Chamber Board, served as Chair of Kingdom Kids Learning Center. Howard resides in Grandy.
