The Museum of the Albemarle will host the monthly History for Lunch Hybrid (both in person and via Zoom video), on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 12 p.m. James D. Charlet, former site manager of Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and museum, will present, Shipwrecks of the Outer Banks: Dramatic Rescues and Fantastic Wrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic from the Gaither Auditorium of the Museum of the Albemarle.
Discover the basics of the United States Life-Saving Service, including the basic drills and duties. An overview of each themed section in the book will be shared along with a brief account of the heart of each chapter.
The Museum will offer the History for Lunch in-person and through Zoom. To attend in-person, visitors must RSVP by May 29 due to limited available seats in the auditorium, by calling 252-331-4054. This lecture will also be online: register in advance through the Museum’s Facebook page or website to receive link through the Zoom platform to attend lecture.
