Recently the Currituck Chamber of Commerce joined a coalition, The Alliance for a Prosperous NC, to oppose the revision to local sales that will cost both Dare and Currituck counties greatly. The sale tax revision is in the North Carolina Senate version of the state budget but not the House version. Two days ago I had the opportunity to testify on this issue in the NC House Appropriations Committee. The NC House continues to voice opposition to this drastic shift.
That Alliance for a Prosperous NC has drafted a letter that will be going to the North Carolina Legislature next week. A link to the draft letter is provided below. If you would like to add the name of your business or organization to this list please email me back or email Toby Weas of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce at tweas@ashevillechamber.org

Please continue to contact your legislators and urge them to oppose the revisions to the sales tax.
Thank you,
Currituck Chamber of Commerce
